Are these typical panic attack symptoms?
I have almost no strength in my arm or hands, and I feel like a need to be supported by something (i.e.; leaning).
I also have a pain somewhere in my back, and I feel very much “off in the distance”. I feel like I’m going to drop any second, but I know that I won’t.
It started this evening when I was walking down a dark road to the store. All of a sudden, right in front of me was a huge deer, with red glowing eyes. I got scared. I guess I might have thought it might charge at me. I don’t know. My mind was in a fog. All of a sudden, I began hyperventilating and I couldn’t stop. Then I began shaking and just trembling. Soon after, I was inside the store, and I lost almost all of my upper body strength. I had to lean my upper body on the handle
of the cart for support, and just use my legs to move myself about. I also noticed when I went to pick up a box of disposable plastic food containers, that my hands weren’t opening, and I couldn’t move them, so I used my wrists to pick up the light weight box. When I got home, some of it subsided, but I still feel very distant, and I’m having to type in a strange way because of lack of strength.
I’ve had panic attacks before, many times. However, I normally only get a tight, clamping feeling in my chest and I hyperventilate.
Do these sound like panic symptoms to you?
If not, do you have any idea as to what’s going on?
I feel like there’s something wrong with me.

Is this close to anxiety/panic attack symptoms?
I often get nervous and upset.
1. Fast heart beat
2. Chest pain
3. Body shake
4. Dizziness
5. Unable to move the body(like my hand gets thick) for 30 min.
I often get this. What cause it? Also , Is this dangerous?

Can panic attack symptoms last for days?
Hey everyone,
So, I’ve been having what I think may be panic attacks recently. I’ve had them in the past, but these symptoms I’ve been having lately, are very different. For a while, I was having chest pains and At night, sometimes I get these attacks and I have difficulty breathing and this sort of wave of panic comes over me. At first, I thought I was having a heart attack, so I freaked out and the next day went to the hospital, but after they did an ECG, tested my oxygen intake and did a chest x-ray, they said everything looked not just fine, but above average. Lately, though, I’ve been feeling really spaced out, faint and a little dizzy and this symptom isn’t going away. Its been around for a couple of days now and there isn’t much that makes this sensation stop. I feel disconnected, almost dream-like to what’s around me, like I’ve just woken up. Is this a symptom of panic attacks and is it normal for this disconnectedness to go on for a few days?
Anyone who’s experienced this or has some clues, your help is much appreciated.
Oh, also, I have been to the Hospital about 4 times regarding this because nothing’s changed and I keep worrying that its something serious, but every time I go, different doctors do the same tests (ECG, oxygen intake) but all say basically the same thing: my heart’s fine, my lungs are fine, and they say its in my head, but these physical symptoms don’t go away…

Panic attacks – what are your symptoms, and what coping techniques have you found to be effective?
One of my "triggers" is air travel, and I have a trip planned for Christmas that requires flying. Any suggestions are much appreciated!
My symptoms are dizziness, anxiousness, feeling like I am falling, sweating and sometimes a fast heartbeat. I actually went to the ER once thinking I was having a heart attack! The best thing I do for panic attacks is first thing: NO COFFEE OR SODA! Caffeine makes panic attacks worse! Relax and close your eyes for few moments. That helps me calm down. Then do something, anything that will occupy your mind. When I feel one coming on, I do something that needs concentration. Like figure out the checkbook, organize something, etc. Menial tasks require effort which takes your mind off the attack coming on. Since you will be flying the tasks are limited. How about making a thank you card list for the gifts? Address envelopes? Or do what I do and get your checking account statement out and do a reconciliation! Good luck!
do panic attack symptoms stay around even after the initial attack is over like for days?
i still feel strange and afraid and a funny feeling in my chest
Yes they can. It is all brought on by stress and the stress factor remains even after the initial attack. Your body becomes extremely sensitive to the feelings that occurred with your initial attack. You need rest and relaxation. You need to learn relaxation techniques that will see your through the rough spots.
What Are The Symptoms Of Panic Attacks?
I Have & Know Panic Attack Sympyoms But I Want To Know If I Have More Than I Thought
I used to have generalized anxiety as well as panic attacks. I went to the dr. who informed me that I was actually depressed from the sheer exhaustion of pretending that I was fine everyday when I was not. I was constantly dizzy and would have feeling of doom. As I saw the dr, he gave me Zoloft, and it did cure my attacks. I hadn’t had one in years. I came off of Zoloft in Sept of 07. I have had 2 times since then that the start of my panic came back. But since I knew exactly what was wrong with me so I didn’t allow myself to be scared as I knew exactly what was going to happen. For me this was a panic attack. (BTW the two starts that I have had after going off of Zoloft, of panic attacks, I was able to stop as I knew what was happening.) But this is what would happen to me. First I would lose the sensation of sight in my left eye only. There was a small spot that I just could not see. After that I knew that the next thing was I would start to have a feeling of numbness that would start in my hand and travel up my arm, then it would go into my throat and neck and tongue, and continue down only on my left side to my leg and foot. I sometimes would be this way for at least 10 minutes. I was so scared and thought that I had just had a stroke. But when I went to this particular Dr, he knew exactly what was happening to me. I just feel lucky that the Zoloft worked for me. I was 28 years old when I went on the Zoloft, and felt that I wanted to see what happened when I went off of it now. My decision had nothing to do with the new findings about depression drugs not working and making people suicidal at all. I just wanted to see where I was. Turned out to be the right thing for me. I still have Klonopin but it is used for each time I get anxious which is very little now. So I wish you luck!! Take care,

Physical symptoms of panic attacks or stress related ordeals…?
My girlfriend experiences painful muscle spasms from time to time that results in sharp chest pains, accompanied by an irregular heartbeat, and a shortness of breath. According to her doctor, she is suffering from panic attacks which relate to some of the stress she is dealing with in her life. I can find that credible, but the part that really blows both her and my mind is the fact that the attacks can be a result of past stress… Like something that might have happened a week or two ago will all of the sudden trigger an unexpected attack in a moment when she is completely content or happy. In my mind, it seems more logical for immediate stress to effect somebody more than past stress.
What I am curious to know is does anybody else suffer similar problems and if so, are your attacks triggered as a result of past stressful experiences or are they usually immediate? Just curious. Thank you.
The very thing happens to me.
I have a problem dealing with issues as they arise and bottle them up inside, push them away not to be thought of for lated. Sometimes my mind will be roaming and happen upon that which I had so delicately tucked away and I’ll be striken with an attack.
It does seem more logical for them to happen at the time of the stress, but it also will happen if you don’t deal with the stress until it comes out on it’s own at a later time.
Can moderate coffee use kill?
Sounds dumb, but I used to use meth on and off for a couple of years and it gave me horrible panic attacks. I have been clean for a year, no use at all. Now it seems that I am sensitive to caffeine – in a normal cup of coffee, or an energy drink. I experience mild uncomfortable panic attack symptoms – because I used Meth will coffee give me heart attack?
Go to the behavioral health center. They can find a drug to help reduce panic attacks. I have these too, mine now are better. I hardly ever have them anymore. The drugs I have taken for them are hardly ever used anymore. I feel panic attacks have more to do with stress than anything.
I drink coffee twice daily. (not decafe) I think coffee is good for you, but everybody’s system is different.
what are the symptoms of a panic attack if you have bad anxietys?
i have anxiety, and im only 14 years old.
i don’t know what to do to keep me from being nervous or worried all the time, i don’t want to be put on meds because its not good for me at my age, any ideas?
Panic attacks are when you get worried (or are even crying) to the point where its hard for you to gasp for air or breathe.
The best idea for your anxiety is to either get a therapist or just live with it.
Good luck =)
